Welcome to astroengine.com. I’m Ian O’Neill and I have a passion for the vast unknown beyond our planet’s atmosphere. It is my hope to share this passion with you through this website and keep you up to date with my work.

For over a decade I have been working as senior producer, science writer and editor for Discovery News and Seeker.com, space blogger for Universe Today and have collaborated with many online and TV channels including Discovery Channel, Al Jazeera and Science Channel. I am now editor of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific‘s Mercury Magazine and a freelance science writer for HowStuffWorks.com, Space.com and others. I hold a Ph.D in solar physics and a Masters in astrophysics.
